Site Execution Framework

Typical Bridge & Culvert Work Sequence

Use this as a general planning framework. The actual sequence must follow approved drawings, project specifications, method statements and site conditions.

01

Survey & Setting Out

Verify coordinates, alignment, levels, benchmarks, utilities and approved drawings.

02

Foundation Works

Execute pile or open foundations as designed; verify founding conditions and required tests.

03

Substructure

Construct foundations, pier shafts, abutments and caps with approved reinforcement and concrete.

04

Superstructure

Execute deck or slab works, structural concrete, bearings and wearing-coat activities as applicable.

05

Inspection & Handover

Close inspections, verify test results, compile records and complete approved acceptance checks.

Field Quality Assurance

Bridge & Culvert QA/QC Checklist

A practical starting checklist for site engineers, QA/QC teams, construction supervisors and inspection personnel.

Before & During Construction

  • ✓Approved construction drawings, method statement, ITP and applicable specifications are available.
  • ✓Survey control, setting-out data, founding levels and required clearances are verified.
  • ✓Materials, mix designs, reinforcement grades and material test reports are approved.
  • ✓Formwork, reinforcement, cover, embedments and construction joints are inspected before concrete placement.
  • ✓Batching, calibration, concrete workability, sampling and strength testing follow project requirements.
  • ✓Concrete placement, compaction, curing and protection are documented and monitored.

Inspection, Records & Safety

  • ✓Pile records, integrity/load-test reports or foundation inspection records are available where specified.
  • ✓Dimensions, alignment, levels, verticality and finished surfaces are checked against approved tolerances.
  • ✓Bearings, deck drainage, wearing coat and other installed components are inspected where applicable.
  • ✓Inspection requests, pour cards, test reports, checklists and non-conformance records are maintained.
  • ✓Work-at-height, lifting, excavation, temporary works and traffic-management controls are implemented.
  • ✓As-built records, outstanding observations and required acceptance documents are completed.
Important: This checklist is a general reference, not a substitute for project-specific acceptance criteria. Apply the approved drawings, contract specifications, ITP, relevant MoRTH/IRC/IS provisions and Engineer's instructions applicable to the project.
